A printmaking workshop with teenage users of my client Victim Support, produced startling results. Once incorporated into the “Kirklees Young People’s Project” final report, the prints and paintings produced by the young people reflected so directly and disturbingly the content of the report. The final document is far more engaging, honest and visually stimulating, than if I had used photos downloaded from a photo library.

Design by engagement is a unique approach that draws on my previous experience as an artist and offers the client a very exciting process and product.

A research project within the University of Bangor selected Love Oranges Nuts to rebrand their literacy development research project. An exploration of the written symbols of the five participating partner countries, the idea of building blocks of learning resulted in a distinctive new logo.

Myself and three other artists decided to ‘take on’ Marsden’s Christmas lights this year, aiming to involve a wider audience in the design and making of the lights. The results were quirky and humorous.
